Are you ready for some HOT summer cycling? Mark your calendars for Saturday, July 30, 2016, and set your sights on Bangs, Texas! The Heart of Texas Cyclists 100K is the central Texas ride you’ve been waiting for!
Our rides begin and end in the small town of Bangs, situated just 8 miles west of Brown County seat Brownwood. The weekend will have for your enjoyment the Bangs Flamin’ BBQ Cookoff, as well as the Red Hot Trade Days. Stick around after the tours for some great barbecue and entertainment! Enjoy the event, or feel free to check out additional entertainment, dining, and museums in nearby Brownwood and Early.
Routes will be published soon, but we will have three routes: a 35K, a 60K, and a 100K. The longer two routes will feature some significant hill climbs as you pass through small towns in western Brown County. Two awards for KOM & QOM will be awarded for the first one to get up the hill near Brookesmith! Ribbons will be awarded for the top racers in each route, with a trophy for the top 100K rider.
Entry fee will be $30 before July 1, after that you’ll have to register at the event for $40. We will also have hotel information published soon.

But I don’t want to compete, I just want to tour!
That’s perfectly fine! In fact, we expect the large majority of registered riders to simply come along for the tour. Competing for ribbons and trophies is purely optional. Come enjoy our fine central Texas hospitality and the beautiful winding roads and hills. After the event, enjoy a free fish fry lunch on us, or sample the barbecue at the cookoff.
Showers will be available after the event also!
